Continuous Weaving on a Square Loom (Part 1 of 2) (Beginner)

In this beginner course we will teach you how to weave on a continuous weaving loom to create a square piece of fabric. These squares can in turn be seamed together to create a larger piece of fabric that can become a scarf, a blanket, a poncho, and more. We will use beautiful square looms handmade by Fred Ricci of Hudson Valley Wooden Bowls, and your class fee includes the loom and comb!

In the first ninety-minute class you will learn how to warp and weave on the loom and use the comb and a crochet hook to create the woven squares. In your second ninety minute class we will show you how to add fiber and/or additional yarns to create a more textured and funky piece of fabric. We’ll also go over the basics of seaming with a tapestry needle and a crochet hook to piece together squares and ideas for clothing and accessories that you can make. Students must register for both parts.
