Ready to go beyond beginner knitting?
Learn to make an Estonian lace shawl in a contemporary design in this three-part course with Dania following the Estonian Trellis Shawl pattern, which includes traditional Estonian lace elements such as lace diamonds, trellis lace and nupps! You should be comfortable knitting, purling and reading basic charts.

Class Size: min 2 and max 5
Class fee $180 for three 2-hour classes on 3/27, 4/3 and 4/10 and which includes the shawl pattern that Yarn Farm will purchase for you from Ravelry and send to you by email as soon as we process your class registration. Don’t buy the pattern directly.* Class fee does not include yarn.
Please bring:
Printout of Estonian Trellis Shawl pattern with you to class as we don’t have a printer in-store. We recommend a hard copy but you can bring a digital file and use an e-reader/iPad if that works well for you.
Needles and notions, unless you’d like to purchase them at Yarn Farm. You will get 10% off any yarn and/or supplies purchased for class.
According to the pattern, you’ll need:
3.0mm US2.5 needles or your preferred needle for your choice of yarn
Stitch markers & a wool needle to darn in ends.
Materials fee: We kindly request that you purchase your yarn for class from us, which helps our business sustainability! You will get 10% off your yarn for class, as well as needles for class if needed. For this shawl we’d recommend a non-superwash wool from Jill Draper such as Barstow or Mohonk Light, or Berroco’s Lanas Light! Come by in the days/weeks before class to pick out your yarn and to use your discount.
*Don’t buy the pattern directly! We can’t refund you if you purchase the pattern from Ravelry directly, and we do need to sell you the pattern as part of the class fee, so that we know the designer has gotten paid for the use of their pattern that we will use in class. So, after registering, HANG TIGHT… we’ll buy your copy of the pattern and email it to you via Ravelry ASAP when we process your registration. Thank you!
Regrets, there are no makeups if you miss class.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund less credit card processing fee (effective 4/11/23) and pattern cost of $6 is provided for any cancellation up to one week before the class date. Refund is less these fees because they are non-refundable fees charged to us, and since you can keep the pattern even if you need to cancel. Credit towards another class is provided for any cancellation made from six days through the day before the class date. No credit or refunds issued after this time, including no-shows on the day-of. If the class is cancelled by us because we have not met the stated minimum number of students, you will receive a full refund.
